Research
The Margaret R. and Robert M. Freeman Library subscribes to several important art research databases and periodical indexes as well as the major bibliographical utilities. These resources are available on any public computer terminal in the Freeman Library with the help of a staff member to log-on. For more information, see Electronic Resources at the Library.
The Freeman Library regularly receives research questions regarding how to perform research on objects found in the Museum collection, as well as researching specific artists, works of art, and art values. For more information and for help getting started on one of these research projects, please see Researching Museum Objects at the Library(PDF; 146KB) or Researching Artists, Works of Art, and Art Values at the Library(PDF; 51KB).
Many students ask the Freeman Library for help in formatting citations for research papers. For more information, see a selective guide to Citing Sources from the Library(PDF; 104KB).
