Continued learning opportunities for those who have successfully completed the Museum Leaders in Training (M.LiT) Program
"Teen Ternships"
A summer "Teen Ternship" is a paid internship position with the VMFA Education Department. During this experience, the "Teen Tern" will gain experience working in the museum and assisting program coordinators with special activities relating to teen programming at VMFA. At the conclusion of the Teen Ternship programs interns will receive a stipend of $1,800.
"Teen Ternship" time commitment: 20 – 24 hours on a weekly basis, Jun 24 – Aug 16 (excluding the week of Jul 4)
Schedule I
Mon – Fri, 8:30 am – 1 pm
Schedule II
Mon – Fri, 12:30 – 5 pm

In your cover letter, please explain why you would like to be considered for the "teen ternship" and the qualities you would bring to the VMFA Education Department, along with your schedule preference.

Teen Terns for summer 2013 will be announced at the 2012 – 2013 M.LiT Recognition Ceremony on Thu, May 16.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Serve as a social media strategist for VMFA's Teen Programs Facebook page
-Create and edit content for the VMFA Education Tumblr page as well as the VMFA blog
-Act as an teacher assistant for weekly AM and PM children's summer camps
-Work on a special accessibility project for low vision visitors
